MINI CLUB OF SOUTH AUSTRALIA HISTORIC REGISTRATION
One of the benefits of membership with the Mini Club of SA is Historic Registration. This is a conditional registration that has been created for people with cars that are 30 years old (or older) and that have little or no modifications. What it basically boils down to is that you can use your car up to 90 times a year with a registration cost in the low to mid $100 dollar range. How to get historic registration. -Become a member of the Mini Club of SA (your rego depends on you being a member of the club) -Submit your car to one of the MCSA historic registration officers for an eligibility inspection (checks modifications and age) -On completion of inspection you.ll receive a logbook and a form for you to present at a department of Motor Vehicle Registration -Present your form at the department of Motor Vehicle Registration and pay the fee (approx $120 to $150) How to maintain your registration. -You MUST fill out the log book whenever you drive it, before you drive it -You must maintain your membership with the Mini Club SA -Your log book must be stamped annually by the MCSA inspection officer If you miss any of these three points your car would legally be UN registered, and normal road traffic penalties would apply in the event of any infringements or, (heaven forbid) collisions!
